The obvious thing to try would be a Ford main dealers.
You've got a part number so that should help you, as usually when you go to the desk the first thing they will ask for is your reg number, because that all ties into the computer system. Mine will help if I give part numbers.

There was a posting on the Car Club forum last month from somebody with a faulty speedo reading (didn't work properly for about 10miles but then starts working OK - I have exactly the same problem). He sourced a sender from TVRCarparts for £76. It's on my list of things to do. If you do get one can you post details of where from and price etc.

From his posting there is a slight difference his old sender and new one

When I replaced mine back in 2004 the Part no. was F1012923. The Ford parts man claimed the old part was obsolete so you have to fit the drive gear from your old one onto this one (dead easy). Also the electrical connector is different but that is easily fixed by fitting the one from your old sender.
