So there I am in my new house thinking that the area is alright and the car would be alright on the drive outside it...........

I come out this morning to find that some piece of sh@t, a lump of pre evolutionary pond scum, some brainless moronic vandalistic tw@t has decided to slice open the the rear screen. To knick nothing !!!! Why ???? £700 on a new roof and its only 8 weeks old and they've trashed it. Not only have they managed to slice open the rear screen for 30% of its circumfrance around the top corner behind the drivers seat, but they have managed to cut the actual hood material aswell.

They left the ally accessories. The Stereo is pretty crap anyway and they left that. I reckon they wanted to see if they could get in it and couldn't.

F*^&cking W*&^ers !! I just want to get hold of this little turd and show him how this makes me feel.......

As if I need this on top of the manifolds and service this month !!!

The crap thing is they now know its there and will probably come back to do it all again. Time for an alarm to go with the immobiliser.

Cheers

A very angry and generally not very happy Mark.

Give us the details Paul.....won't be there Sunday as I'm going back to Norfolk to do the manifolds. Spoke to Gary this morning to see whether Peninsula could do the rear screen for me when we're all down there next weekend. As for a garagre we let the one with the house back to the landlord for £50 a month. I reckon I may have to say F**k i* and rent it back of him !!!

I have an Autowatch immobiliser currently and was thinking about getting an upgrade to take an alarm aswell.

Not a happy bunny this morning...

Got your rad back yet ??

Auto watch do a combined alarm and immobiliser, it may also plug into you existing immobiliser but couldn’t be sure, its called auto watch blue, and has a microwave sensor with a warn away zone (beeps and flashes the indicators) then a trigger zone witch will sound the alarm, the alarm has can have a 6 tone siren or single, I used to be able to get them for £120, to fit yourself. It will also operate central locking and electric windows.

I pay £8 a week for my garage from the council so £12.50 a week isn’t bad if it’s right outside.

Yes got the radiator back, looks much better the only problem is the mounting holes for the fan have gone so I’ll need to make something up. I also got an 82-degree thermostat instead of the 88.

I really sympathise, I have had the same sort of problem, though not so much damage. Some broke into my car, completely knackering the drivers door lock and even denting the door skin. Contents of car was 1 10yr old Rad/Cass, 1 pair of cheap sunglasses and a cheap torch. Was it really worth the effort, Fg s

sorry to hear about what happened - I would be furious.

I used to leave mine in a car park in a reasonable area on a daily basis. Then one day when I came back to the car somebody had pulled off the wing mirrors. The strangest thing was that they had left them neatly on the bonnet. No scratches on the bonnet, no damage to the mirrors (just plugged them back on to the ball joint). So again the question was why!!!

Problem was I could never leave it in that car park again without worrying about it all day.

Is your damage like that covered by your insurance or does the excess / loss of NCB make it impossible?

I think putting in the garage is the only way to fend off the idiots of the world as out of sight is out of mind......keeps the rain off too

Cheers

Johno,

Sorry to hear what happened, I know how you feel. Local yobs in my village regularly give the locals cars a good kicking. As John Travolta said in Pulp Fiction, " It would be worth them doing it just so you could catch them!"
I'd hang em by the testicals with piano wire!

See what prices you can do for an alarm fitted with ahungry pitbull with a bad attitude towards low life pond scum who attack cars.

Cheers Paul, I won't have time to get my normal guys to fit anything when in Norfolk so it would help me out a great deal. Especially with your knowledge of ICE etc....

I'll rent you my 42kg German Shepherd for a modest fee!
Trouble is he is a one-man dog and just as likely to think you were the thief!

I am being quoted £175 by one garage and £285 by another for the same job - putting in a new rear screen - I haven't had a quote from the guy who
did the original new roof yet. How the hell can these
quotes be so different ???

Check out the thread (from a couple of weeks ago) in the Chim section. Some guy in Crystal Palace replaced the bqack screen in a Chim for £150 I think. May not be right location wise tho'

Tough luck about the damage – b@st@rds.

I'd love to catch them doing it tho' – well, not if there were ten of them – about three would do – especailly if I had me cricket bat.

Suppose its down to their labour cost, like Waldonway wanted £600 to service the S, Peninsula are less than half that.

Hope you manage to get it sorted quickly.

Oh dear, Oh dear,
sorry to hear about the roof. Look at it this way, if your car looked crap, they would have walked on by.
We are all assuming that your car is an absolute stonker and these guys were so jealous they just had to do it! we will all expect perfection at Verginia Waters. And if you are religious (and i'm not) this is only a test to see if you have the character to be able to overcome another obstacle that has been put in your way. Personally speaking, i reckon they should be castrated and tied to the back of a charging horse.
And finally i promise i didn't do it to get back at you for sending me an 22.9mb email !
all the best
gadgit.

It's not an absolute stonker unfortunately as it is my everyday transport and has covered 33,000 miles in the last 24 months which doesn't help keep it in tip top condition.

The roof did look the bizz though as it is only 10-12 weeks old. Hopefully I can get it sorted by the time we get to Virginia Waters !!

Cheers for all the sympathy folks, and I hope none of you suffer the same misfortune...

Cheers

Mark
