Um............MX-5 mirrors ; are these suitable (and fairly straightforward) as a replacement for rabbit ears?

Mk1 MX5 mirrors are an easy swap. They just about cover the holes left by the bunnies ears. You then just need to drill the two mounting holes for your securing bolts. I believe someone on here has used self tappers though.

I swapped mine for Mk1 MX5 and they are very easy to fit (and I can now use my wing mirrors as they are supposed to be used).

If your coming up to S Club then hunt me out and I will be happy to show you how straight forward it was.

Thanks chaps, I know it's a much-talked-about modification but I wanted to make sure it's MK1 MX-5 and rabbit ears, as opposed to MK2 MX-5 and Citroen CX mirrors or somesuch.

I changed to mk1 mx 5's a few years ago - for some reason some are straight forward and some are not (something to do with original brackets being sunk in the door if I remember right) mine wasn't and I had to do some glass fibre work and paint to get them on but well worth it - picture in profile - I would post one up but can't remember how

Doh.. just read the last post.. cool I may go for some of those.. I was going to fit new mini but it would be a pretty big job and they weight loads.. Just getting the simplicity of the S now..
