Bonnet hinge brackets

Well, I knew mine were getting a bit past their best, having been repaired for the previous owner, and I had planned to do them later this year, but fate kind of forced my hand with it.

Got home yesterday after a great blast over to the coast and back, only to see the bonnet wobbling a bit for the last few miles. When I popped the catch, the bonnet almost fell off, so I wasn't too surprised at what I found on the drivers side

On the passenger side

The box section is very flimsy, so I have made up something a bit beefier, which I'm welding on tomorrow...should do nicely I hope.




I'd recommed you check the box sections...they really look too flimsy for the weight.

Blimey, bloody good job that didn't fail on the road or it could have cost you a bonnet or worse!

hi, while you're doing that, (the bonnet thing, not the shield thing) you might want to look at Gerald-TVR (board member, name Norman) thread about new stainless steel bonnet hinges, they look great.
it's a recent thread, so should'nt be too far back, it would seem a shame to
do the work you're doing, and not buy some.

i'm not on commission, they really do look great.

i'm no good at putting a link here, some one might be along tues and
do it
