Went to collect the S1 body from the rollcage manufacturer and when I arrived home found that the drivers side roof panel was missing. Retraced my route and found the panel but it is scraped and needs recovering fortunately it does not look like it has been run over but did have a soaking in a puddle (the roof had been completely refurbed by the prvious owner less than a couple of years ago)

who is the best to do this work? prefferably in the north of England

Does anyone have a set that needs a refurb as I wish to have a second set to modify so I can wear a crash helmet for trackdays/rallying

If you're serious, consider getting a better and lower driver's seat instead. I'm 6'4 and can (just) get in mine with a crash helmet on, with a bucket seat bolted to the floor.

I'd do the roof repair yourself with all the other work you are doing it should be simple. There is a company in Holland who supply the repair material relatively cheaply and all cut to shape. They were in Sprint last month and adverstise on ebay for most soft tops - meant to be good, although I haven't used them myself.

Hi,
I recently wanted my targa recovered. I took it to the guy everyone recommends in the area who said he would only do it if I agreed to get the hood done too and it would cost £1,000! Bearing in mind I am supplying the material for the outside and my hood looks fine to me.
I have since found a professional who has quoted me £50 per panel to recover the outside with the supplied material, and recover the inside with cream leather. This guy has replaced the roof of my mates BMW Z4 and he was very happy with the job.
I will be getting the targa panels back next weekend and can let you know the standard if you like? He is in Glasgow, I live in Edinburgh. If you get the panels to me I will get them to him as my job takes me all over Scotland.
Steve.
