Route to SCH09 from OOP NORF ?
Discussion
I think its about time we saw who is travelling from North of Gaydon to see what convoying possibilites we have... is was great to be part of an increasingly large bunch of S's last year as we approached Newark.
So, I will be travelling down the A1 from NE on saturday morning, Hopefully with Graham, Ian and now Tim... so what convoying/meet oportunities do we have on the way ?
Not long now !

Hi Chaps
during yesterdays run Graham, Ian and I agreed to set the first meeting point as Washington Services at 10.00a.m. on Saturday (6th)so we will depart by 10.30 latest...
Tim, we'll need to meet at 9.30'ish in the village if thats good for you ?
estimated time to the Wakefield area will be about 1.3/4 hrs so we need to fix the second meeting point with Jaye and Alan... what do you guys think ?
and give some thought to the route south from that point as its in your territory
and is anyone else thinking of joining us ??? Andy ??? Geoff ????

Kevin
You guys can always come to my house (plenty of room to park on the grass at the front), have a brew and then set off for the 'second leg' from here...I will do some work on a route over the next few days.
Just a thought, as I'm only 5 mins off the M1 (and Kev, you know where I am).
What do you think?
Cheers
Jaye

OK - first route suggestion:
From 'Wakefield' - over to the A1 (quick sprint across M62) - down to Worksop area (approx 40mins on A1) then on to A614. Follow A614 through Ollerton until turning off to A6097 & follow to A46 at Bingham (Notts) - (journey length now approx 1hr 15mins). Turn off A46 to A606 to Melton Mowbray (pick up some pork pies??). On to the 'back road' of the B6047 which can be followed down to Market Harborough, cut back across on the A4304 to pick up the A426 at Jct 20 of the M1 - then through Rugby and finally to Gaydon - I reckon the journey may take approx 3 hours (allowing for stops, etc.)
There are loads of other (and more direct routes), however, this one really does avoid nearly all motorways.
Any other suggestions are obviously more than welcome.
Cheers

OK so that sounds like us further-northerners would be better just coming down the A1 as far as Ferry Bridge services to avoid doubling back... Alan, you would have to pass us to get to Jayes anyway so you have options... Route south from there sounds OK - I'll have a look at the map laterFrom 'Wakefield' - over to the A1 (quick sprint across M62) - down to Worksop area (approx 40mins on A1) then on to A614. Think you have a point about me getting across to Jayes kevin. Ferry Bridge services will be the better option.
Hi chaps
I have now written up a route plan (of sorts) to get us from Ferrybridge Services to the campsite (I hope).
I will bring a supply with me to Ferrybridge, however, if you wish to double check it before we set off please PM me and I will forward you a copy.
Roll on next Saturday

Cheers
