trying to start my s1 for the first time in 6 years
I think the problem is the immobiliser.
There was a buzzing noise when you put the fob on the immob.
When cranking it sounds like the solenoid is clicking back and forward, the car turns over but not smooth and normal.
I've had the laserline imob box apart and the buzzing is from the relays, there is also a burn out connector to the box.
Are there any quick and simple ways of bypassing. Should I trace wire back and reconnect orginal circuit? or pay for someone to disconnet or install a new one?
Thanks
Mike

Mike ,if I was you I'd have a go, there is a copy of the wiring diagram on here somewhere I think and at the end of the day you have nothing to lose.If it doesnt work then you can involve an auto electrician and get a new one fitted then. The wiring on these vehicles is relatively simple if you adopt a logical approach to it, I know a lot of people fear electrics but you may be suprised at what you can do if you have a go.Just Make sure there is a fuse in all "live feeding" circuits in case you get it wrong.
Good Luck
