bonnet badge

can someone let me know how i revove it? cant seem to get access to the retaining bolts. thanks mark.

Mark,

The easiest (still not very easy) way to get to the retaining bolts is to put the car up on ramps at the front and allow the bonnet to open past its normal stopping point so that it comes forward of the car....This will then allow you to almost lie across the top of the engine to gain access to the bolts....

Be areful as the badges are only soft 'ol metal and so are the threads. The nuts will have been there a long time and may have corroded and it is very easy to ring them off !!! Been there and done that !!!!

Also be careful when removing the badge that the threads don't chip the bonnet paintwork on the way out. Easiest to have someone on the other side to hold it while you undo it......

cheers mark......had a fun couple of hours last night cleaning ths engine bay and chassis i could get to in there, and then had fun putting the newly charged battery back.....hell that can seriously put your back out! still the old girl fired first time! oh happy days.
