Just wondering how to change settings on my Gaz front shocks! there's the big nut thing thing which does the height yeah?, plus the little knob on the side with a + and -

Just need some help on it really, pics are possible.

One more thing, tried to turn the nuts around the bottom thread part...one of the front shocks will not turn to save it's life, the fist comes down the other nut will not move
without the whole shock spinning. I need some advice on freeing her up

Thanks chaps

The little knob adjusts the damping. Clockwise = (+) = firmer IIRC. You should feel a positive 'click' as you turn it - new ones click every quarter of a turn and have approximately 21 turns from hard to soft.

As for the adjusting nut, if the damper is on the car it CAN'T turn with the nut. You are probably just seeing the spring and spring seat turn with the nut, which sometimes happens and is nothing to worry about.

Have fun!

when adjusting the spring ride height you need to slacken the lower lock nut first ,adjust to the require ride height with the top nut, then run the lower nut back up the thread and lock the two nuts together you will need a set of C spanners to make this job easier good luck kev

Can I suggest that locking the alloy spring seat and lockring together too tight is asking for trouble, just a little nip up does the job and gives you half a chance some time down the line, when you may wish to change height.
