S Series seat fixings
Discussion
There was a thread elsewhere (I think Chim) where Pete (Green V8S) had mentioned additional bars being fitted to the chassis to support the seats.
Has anyone had this mod carried out to their S? I had often thought that the standard bolt through the fiberglass method was a bit iffy and would be interesting on other owners views.
Pete,
I assume you've had this done on yours, do they weld or bolt onto the chassis? Is it a Tower View special or do other specialists / dealers offer it?
As a fat bloke I now cringe when ever the suspension compresses and wait for my arse to hit the road .
Cheers,
JSG

Tower View definitely supply them.
It provide a cross member underneath the seat from outrigger to transmission tunnel which the seat then bolts to.
It is a requirement I believe if you want to sprint the car....I may be wrong though.
Probably am, usually am...I'll get my coat.
Cheers

They're bolted on. They aren't too hard to fit if you don't mind drilling a few holes (the position of the seat mounts varies from car to car so the bars need to be drilled to match the actual position of your seat) but if you're anywhere near Tower View I'd get them to do it for you. Wouldn't expect it to take long.
Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)
I got mine from Tower View after a 4 month wait. The guy that made thm broke his leg and seems to have gone awol. However, when they did eventually come, the guy from Tower View phoned me and said they where on the house.
It took me a day to fit including some repairs to the floor where the seat had cracked it. Easy job really. The mounts are less than £50 quid.
Cheers
