Decided to take the S out yesterday for the first time this year and stopped at a petrol station to buy some petrol. is it me, or is the S difficult to fill up with petrol.i watched 2 cars come and go whilst i was still filling up as the nozzle kept cutting out. Has anybody got any tips for filling up the S?

Yep it's a problem I rotate the nozzle right around so it's pointing I'm guessing but somewher toward the drivers door. Basically the petrol is hitting the bottom of the tank and splashing back up the filler tube. Just experiment and you'll find a point that works better it doesn't however fix the problem just makes it slightly better. I've also found that Tesco pumps are the worst maybe they deliver the petrol at slightly higher pressure or something I'm not sure. If you think the S is bad my brothers Robin Hood takes him about 15 mins to fill from empty and there no position the nozzle can be turned to to make it better.

Right off for a blast now breakfast at Compton Abbas but I have to fill up first so that's 10 mins at the pump.

I always hold the pump head almost out of the filler head and only depress the pump half way....ensuring the petrol goes in as slowly as possible
Works well for me...

yes

Hold the nozzle upside down, problem solved.

thanks guys. it feels like one should use an old fashion racing petrol filler. am sure that will work a treat.

Takes a while but not as bad as a westfield, you have further to bend to reach the filler. Some one asked once if it was a big tank as it took so long to fill!
