Get it recored at a radiator specialist.
It is an old sherpa van radiator with extra cores, so it is and isn't a sherpa van rad!

I've just had my rad recored by a local specialist for which they releived me of £180!! but when they looked in their book it is a listed core with a part number so you shouldn't have a problem.
Cheers.....Tony..

Thanks Chaps for the info.... this rad was replaced/recored by the previous owner at a cost of about £300.

I will be looking for the cheaper option... in the meantime.. a tin of Radweld methinks. rolleyes

You could always fit another rad from a different car. I've used an alloy one from a MGF race car and CTE on here has used a Sierra one on his.
Mine worked out at around 130 notes including a SPAL fan, silicone hoses (now 32mm throughout), alloy mounting brackets, thermostat housing and of course the rad. It just comes down to careful purchasing of parts at nice prices.

Back to your rad - There was a mention on a post in the past to check that there is no distortion in the rad frame. Apparently this can contribute to a failure. Mine had a rebuilt rad earlier this millennium and it still looked great but it leaked and the lower nearside corner - that is why I replaced it with something completely different.

Be careful of Radweld I used it as a short term fix and finished with some weird red gunge in the cooling system - getting a leak fixed shouldnt be expensive Thers a rad repairer in Droitwich, quite close to you who is reasonable and good. PM me for details
