Chaps, back onto the S threads after posting a general question to the TVR masses.

I've had it confirmed today by TVR Engineering and TVR Power that the lump in my late V8S is not only a Chimaera spec but is a 400HC one at that fitted from new!!!

My question is are there any other late Chim spec'd V8S's out there that have HC lumps (and owners not aware?) or is mine a one off? (we'll not count retrofitting Peter!!)

I must say that not only am I generally pleased with the car I'm now doubly pleased to find out that it has 275 and not 240 bhp , I know that's the TVR power figures and they're as reliable as an Albanian(sp?) night watchman, but hey it goes down well with the

Not counting the retrofit, mine left the factory in early '93 with a Chimaera 4.0 engine. It is one of the first catted ones and my guess is the catted V8Ss all used Chimaera engines, these were starting production as the V8S phased out. As far as I know mine was standard 400 spec not an HC. Was slightly faster than the equivalent 400 Chimaera but I put this down to the weight advantage.

Cheers,
