Do you think it is worth adding a section to the owners list for S's that we know are no more?

For example the roasted one that Norman is breaking at the moment.

Good idea you can start with 1990 S2 G922 GRP dead Jan 2009. I think it would also be good to note the cause of death for future generations, we could even have an annual requiem mass at S Club each year, and why not a 'missing man' formation drive past!! Seriously though its a good idea

I think it's a good idea. Thankfully both S's I've owned are still around.

It would be good to have the list updated with the current owners too as I can see some I know are not correct from reading recent posts... what about a moderator sending out a pm to all currently listed and see how many respond... or maybe pick up a "last visited forum" date ??

another thought would be when an owner sells theirs it is classed as "Lost" (or something) until the new owner lists it as his/her own, it just seems a pity that some cars are still around with new owners that either dont know about or have decided not to visit PH...

come on Chris you obviously have loads of time on your hands now that the car is ready for the road...

K wink

Oh if only Kevin!

Everything in the house seems to be falling apart at the moment.
I've just fixed the shower after we had water coming through the lounge and dining room ceiling (ceiling isn't fixed tho), now the washing machine has packed up madfurious

I did think a couple of years ago about creating a website where you could register and add your car details etc.

The only problem is I've never done a web based system before, all the software I develop is standard PC based, not web front ends!!

Just picking up where I left off about owners on the list who might not be owners any more... if you click on an unfamiliar name on the list, you find some that come back as "Oops name not found" ??? does that mean they have left PH ? I suppose its still a record of where the car was last known but who knows if the car still exists ?

I think it also depends if they could spell their own id properly! irked

The other problem is not all users allow emails.

I know where you're coming from Kevin - I know there are some wrong entries on there scanning down the list.
I guess if you sell your car updating that list is hardly a priority.

I was kind of hoping a "Lost" car would re-appear further down the list as the new owner listed it as his... seems a pity to lose details of the car by removing them from the list which why I was thinking of a kind of "suspension" status ...

and hey dont ask me to feel sorry for someone who has sold their car... phillistines ! hehe

Or if the new owner was really clever they would amend the existing entry and add the old owner to the Prev PH Owner column!

Does anyone have ownership of the 'S Owners List' confused

I believe that my S2 was the one that used to belong to 'Grumpy Bear'. His entry is at No.19 in the V6 list, but I did not want to just delete his entry.

It is a great idea to immortalise the demised, especially for people who are looking for previously owned cars.

Not hard to do, did mine a couple of days after getting the car home.

No one actually owns the list - I think most members can update it though I think you have to be registered for a period of time before you are allowed to.
I do try and tidy things up from time to time.

There may be an issue with the owners list - in that it has now got too large and may have to be split into 2 seperate ones.
I've also been doing some work on it with the mods to add a table of contents - though we couldn't get it to work.
The Apostrophe in T'Veteran Racer was one issue - though its still not right we will hopefully have this sorted soon.
You can still update the list while this is going on.

Is my user name still a problem, if it is then is there any way to change it to make more simple (a bit like me).
