Hi guys,

While stripping down my block for a much needed cleaning I managed to drop a bloody injector and have cracked the plastic cap that sits on the nozzle end. First of all will this mean the injector is knackered?
The cars a S2 so the 2.9 V6, injectors are Bosch 0280150727 (Grey ones), anybody know where I could find either replacement injectors or a replacement plastic cap? Last thing, is there any kind of 'uprated' injector for a little more oomphhh and would i need to do any ECU work?.

Cheers guys, rebuilds going well, hopefully back together in 2 more weeks. Had to take the dash out so I'm now pulling my hair out. I'll try get some pics up.

p.s. tried eBay, nothing on there and also tried a few trade places round mine but I really don't want to spend stupid money on one injector.

The caps are replaceable. The caps, filters and 'O' rings are routinely replaced when cleaning/reconditioning, so anyone who does this could provide them. There are plenty of sources on ebay.

From reading the Ford forums the V6 2.9 benefits from injectors that flow at 150cc/min. The stock ones flow 138cc/min at 3 bar. Checking this site http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tableifc.htm you already have some that flow better - 147cc/min - but that figure is at 2.3 bar (33psi). I guess it now depends on the fuel pressure reg that you have fitted and the pressure you're running at. From Stan's table if you are running 3bar then they flow 169cc/min.

Either way, I'm suspect that that you aren't going to get any gains from injectors.
