I'm fairly new to TVR ownership, and have always liked the look of some of the walnut dash's in various TVR pics on the net. I've been looking everywhere for someone who can supply or re-manufacture a walnut dash for an S1, without me having to remove my current leather finished dash to use to get sizes etc. Any ideas where I can source one from, without losing the use of my car?

These people might be worth a try

They mention TVR centre consoles as part of their specialisms, think you might have to leave your Tiv in Nantwich for a few days though, good luck!

Tower View advertise a re-veneering service. Last time I was there I remember seeing a dash-shaped veneer panel pinned to the wall as a sample. Worth a call? 0208 452 6922 as if you didn't already know.

Dear s1 owner, i dont believe that the dash was actually veneered. If you look very carefully you will see that it is actually painted and lacurred.

While its true some were painted (I heared it was done when they had supply problems), some/most were definitely veneered.

I understood the full walnut curvy dash on the S1/2 was a very rare beast and a very substantial piece of wood/veneer at that.

If you look at the 'S Club Heaven' photo's in the NEWS/TVR/S SERIES you will see a very nice example, looks like real wood to me, but then again what do I know.

The only wood dash I have had a good look at was definitely veneered, but I have only seen two in 10+ years.

Nick,
It's my dash you are referring to on the S Club Heaven photo's. I must state it's not veneered but I'm very pleased with the refurb. There is an earlier thread started by GIMPTON back on the 9th of Nov. 'dash options' where I describe the options I considered. Just let me know if you want more details.

David Geralds or some of the other specialists (Wedge Auto / Penninsular) often have some of the more obscure parts, try calling them. David Geralds have always had any S bits I've needed.

Cheers,

I had a walnut dash on my S2 - they are rare, all the re-vaneering services I came across did the small centre panel on the S3+ but do not touch the S2 as the dash is far to large and curvy. The original dash was NOT vaneered - it is printed and looked very rough after a few years (hence why I had mine re-done) not surprising bearing in mind quite how exposed to the elements they are. Mine had been re-done prior to buying it in a sort of 'Homefront' wood type paint effect (it looked sh*t).

In the end I had mine covered in leather - it cost a bloody fortune (more than £500) but there are places which do it cheaper (somewhere in the west country quoted £200 ish).

The top and bottom is you are highly unlikely to fine anywhere who will 'vaneer' your dash for a sensible price.
