Just got back from the MoT and all was well with no notifications either so that's that - now legal until early Jan 2010 which is a nice thought.
One thing though - during the test the tester said the number plate light wasn't lit so after a quick twiddle it lit OK so all was well. The TVR design of the rear number plate light is pretty poor; has anyone fitted a better version which is more positive in terms of the bulb contacts as I'd be happy to change mine.

I think you'll find most cars have an equally rubbish arrangement - two prongs with holes in to hold the long bulb is pretty much as good as it gets, though I've noticed recently some BMW's seem to have LED number plate lamps so I don't know if there's an after market equivalent out there.

Look at the kit car parts suppliers svc, car builder solutions etc most have led number plate lights now.

Stafford vehicle components have a very small led unit about 50x25x20, used one on the back of a westfield and it looked great. Small but legal.

Thanks Jim... well she passed so I echo your Yippee!... however, she picked up an advisory for play in the steering rack (nearside) so I have a job to do over the winter...

I know its a re-con job so whats the latest recommendation of good service out there? who is doing a good job of these just now ?

Nice one Jim, good way to end your TVR year! Many thanks for the encouragement you gave me with my S in 2008. Lets just hope 2009 will be a bit more 'open car friendly'!
My MOT will fall a few days before S club so I think I had better put a note in my diary to bring it forward a bit, don't want that much last minute stress again!
Yes, those number plate lights are rubbish. If anybody comes up with an 'ideal' replacement I will treat mine to one as well.
