Looking to buy an s1
Discussion
Having just sold most of my kit car project I need something to fill my garage with, with the left over after paying of my credit card!
I have wanted a S for ages.
I have two options,
Buy one that needs a lot of work including chassis lift. I'm fine with welding so not a problem it will just take time and £s
Or buy one of the cheaper S's for around £1500 have seen one or two that apparantly don't need welding but need a new window and rear screen and are a little tatty on the inside and out of MOT.
I know I havent got big money to spend, my limiting factor is not being able to do body work resprays. Everything else I can work on.
Any thoughts

Take a look at Ray S's car in the classifieds - the £2500 one in Lincs. He's changed a few cosmetic bits including the seats which may not be to everyone's taste but much more importantly he's done a body off and the chassis is sorted. There's photos of the body off linked to the ad. Low mileage too.
The cosmetic bits are easy to swap, you could drive it away and enjoy it immediately and change any bits you don't like later.
He's only selling to help his daughter buy a house.

yeh thats one of the ones I'm looking at.
I'm tempted to go for it and do a full body off and replace what needs replacing in one go.
That way I'll have a good chassis that should last another 5-10 years.
What do people think to black as a colour?
Mike
i have one in moonraker black stunning when the light catches it I'm tempted to go for it and do a full body off and replace what needs replacing in one go.

I'm interested in Ray's car and spoke to him about it the other day but didn't get his phone number, I'd like to go and see it on Friday and have emailed him about doing so and I'm likely to buy but he's not replied to my email so I think he may have sold it now.The cosmetic bits are easy to swap, you could drive it away and enjoy it immediately and change any bits you don't like later.

I think I have Ray's number at home if so I'll PM it to you. Chris
Lovely, thanks Chris!I do wonder whether it has sold now b/c Ray called me really quickly after I enquired on Sunday but I've not heard from him since trying to get in touch again.
He's a long way away from where I'm located so I'd like to check he still has it before setting out

I think Rays car is still for sale.
Here's another at the other end of the scale - sure looks nice if you cover up the price.

I have seen this S4 & it is very nice! small cut in center console trim let it down imo. Starting to thing I should have paid bit extra & got it...... colour put me off. Here's another at the other end of the scale - sure looks nice if you cover up the price.
