AVO or Gaz Shocks

Thanks for all the info on Gaz shocks everyone, now given the choice ( £350 or £500 ) Would you choose AVO or Gaz.
I don't have a probem with the ride or handling of my S I just want her to go up in height a little to stop the exhaust gounding. Not helped i suppose by the 55 profile tyres.

I have Avo's and I'd go Gaz.
The AVO's only have about 12 clicks full hard to full soft - they were still a quantum leapover my originals but I stil feel like I may be missing something.

The two rear AVO's on mine both burst just out of warranty. Wasn't impressed.

Unfortunately, the garage sorting the car (well knows and respected Independent - but I don't know why) forgot to order Gaz replacements (my request) and so had to fit replacement AVO's as I needed the car back.

£350 for AVO shocks??? Just checked their site and I make it £370 plus any delivery. That is also just the damper and no spring whereas the GAZ price includes new springs.
The reason I never went for the AVO ones was because they list the same damper for both front and rear yet the originals are different. GAZ supplied different length dampers front and rear so I felt more confident with what they were offering.

In Avo's favour I rang them as my bushes on the shocks were looking a bit tired - they were very helpful and sent me a new set free of charge.

Those burst shocks - did they burst out of the top?
It may be possible to get them repaired by AVO.

AVO do a repair service and I'm sure they would have done so, but the garage dealing with servicing my car waited a full week before starting any work, even though the service was only due to take 1 day. That would have been fine, but at the time it was my only car and I needed it back, so I had no choice but to get them to put on new replacements.

I originally fitted AVO, but could not adjust to them....subsequently bought GAZ and think they work very well for basic shocks...now 3 years and no problems. I run different spring rates which makes them work even harder.

I dont think Gaz will be there (not on exibitors list) maybe one of their fitting agents, why not give them a ring?
