S3 Driving lights

What are people fitting these days to replace their driving lights? I also need to fit new headlights but i can fit sealed beams if i can find some with a sidelight ( i think ) Following advice on here i'm the proud owner of a pair of Terrano indicators.
Also has anyone fitted Gaz Nickels to their S and noticed a big height difference? Mine is always bottoming out and i can't open the bonnet properly without touching the road so i guess i've sagged!!

Forget sealed beam units and go for some halogen ones. Look at http://www.s-v-c.co.uk for examples and costs. Mine are Wipac ones and are ok and were better than my V70 at the time. Since replaced the V70 lights so the S is now not as good but it is better than most people seem to imply.

I'm running the Gaz nickels and they made a huge difference. Main one was adjustable ride height so that I could get down my drive but also the damping is soooo much better. I'm finding that I drive the car faster now because of improved control over the bumps so I'd happily recommend them. Need to try different spring rates for the lumpy Norfolk roads though as I do still blow through the travel on the dips.

Driving lights - if you're talking about the spots then check out Halfords or your local motorfactor for Ring spots.

I can help with the headlights, I fiited a pair of Wipac Quad Optics with uprated bulbs from Stafford Vehicle Components Ltd, see here and have been very pleased, one or two others on here have fitted them as well. They also do these which look good, I guess thay can have the upgraded bulbs

Jed just pipped me to the post I guess SVC could help with the driving lights as well.

Do the svc headlights fit easily, straight forward replacement? If so could do with some myself.
Just had Gaz nickels fitted but have to wait till the weekend to get the car back.

Hi Alan

Yep straight swap the headlights didnt even need adjusting. Only problem I had was the inner rim retaining screws were rusted in and I had to drill a couple out. There was a lot of rust as well. To do the jub the easy way replace the ' nests' as well but you would need to get the headlights adjusted.

Wish I'd got new rims as well thats the retaining bracket and a very rusty inside rim.

Thanks for that info Norman. Job for next year svc usually do the kitcar shows so might get some at S club heaven save the post.

Would love to go but having this year off been to the last two and it gets expensive after tickets, fuel and parking. Then the stuff to buy as well! Stoneleigh this year had to go to load up the car halfway through the day couldn't cary it all.
