V6 exhaust manifold bolts

I have a nice shiny set of stainless manifolds ready to fit. I'm wanting to use stainless bolts. Does anyone know the spec of the mounting bolts? Are they the same as the V8 engine?

No definately not - the V8 bolts are imperial I'm pretty sure the ford engine bolts will be metric.

Thanks for that. While reading that I went from " Yeah piece of cake!" to "Oh good grief, it could be anything". I'm away working right now, so I guess it'll be a case of spanners out when I get home.

I refitted my manifolds using stainless bolts (rather than studs)and a copper anti-seize compound. So far it has been successful. One thing I would add though, just in the same way that it is possible to get steel bolts of different strength then the same applies to stainless. Lower tensile strength stainless bolts would NOT be good. If you are at all uncertain then I have a friend who is in the fasteners business and supplied high spec stainless ones for mine, I'd be happy to get a set for you. I'm sorry, I cannot remember the thread spec but I have a spare one in the workshop I could check if necessary.
