Coolant expansion tank for S3

Hi all,

Does anyone know the origin of the coolant expansion tank fitted to the S3 please?
I could do with a new one.

Try Bell Hill garage for a second hand one.
I could do with one for my S2, not sure if they are the same though.
At SCH some one had a stainless steel one but I never caught up with the owner to see where he had it from or made.
If they are getting scarce we could get together and get some made. I could draw it up on CAD and get prices..

There was a member on here called "the gamekeeper" who, as I beleive used to make them to order from SS, I think, dont quote me on this, for about £200. Not sure if he's still about though, may be worthwhile doing a search for him on PH's.

Radiator Expansion Bottle - Part No ARH256 - £38.44 inc VAT P&P on 28/02/05 from RIMMER Bros tel [phone]. Not sure if a)they still sell them (common Rover part) or b) they are still going! Lived just around corner from the wharehouse for 2 years without buying a part and then needed this after moving 400 miles away!

Thanks everyone, especially Tony. I think the correct number must be ARH259, and it seems to be common to SD1, some MGs and some Dolomites.
The best price I've found so far is £42-90 from Brown and Gammons.

Interestingly, it seems that this version doesn't have the coolant level sensors built in (or holes for them) like mine, but since they're not connected to anything it doesn't really matter!

I've seen the odd one on fleabay now and again (brand new) and they go for peanuts if you can wait for one to turn up!

Yes, there was one there last month, but it went for quite a lot of peanuts - twenty eight quid's worth to be precise! But you're right - it's still a lot cheaper than retail.
