Fuel tank sender unit

The gauge doesn't work on mine and I have checked, it is the sender which has failed. The Alternative Parts list doesn't give an alternative, has anybody sourced one which can be used?

tvrcarparts.com sell them. The wiring may be slightly different though. Pies' site at tvrsseries.com explains how to wire the new sender to the old wiring. Order 2 gaskets to get a good seal.

Check the tracks on the PCB on the sender and if they don't look to be worn through then check that there are no dry joints on the lead connectors where they join the PCB.
This was the case on mine and once resoldered it worked a treat.

rich as stated tvr car parts sell them i got 1 from there but to be honest its not very good,does give erratic readings but at least when it goes to the empty i know theres 2 gallons in it

Hi Ken, they are not exactly cheap either given that you need two seals as well. Think I might take mine out and do a bit of research if nobody else has done it already! I can always blank it off for the time being as it is no use at the moment.
Just take this opportunity to add a note. When I had to strip down the fuel system I found quite a lot of bits of a plastic material in the fuel pump filter. Turned out to be some sort of silicon mastic which had been used to seal the sender. Moral of the story; too much silicone at sender could lead to fuel pump failure.
