I'd like to change the rims of my TVR V8S 2000 cc

Hi everyone,
I would like do remove my original 15" rims (tires: 205/60 R15) and install bigger ones say, for example 17"...
Does anyone know if it is possible ?
If so, wich tires are compatible ?
I'm not so used with forums, so my search of similar arguments did not give any results...

Carlo, the hubs are ford, so you need to go for alloy wheels with a ford centre fitting, the other important aspect is the offset - how far in / out of the wheelarch the edges of the wheel are.
I would recommend that you go to a good wheel / tyre supplier in your part of the world, they should be able to help. Similarly with tyres - you want to buy tyres that give the same overall diameter as your existing wheels.
Do you have a copy of the S Series Bible available from the TVR Car Club?
There are a lot of tables in there comparing different wheel & tyre sizes.

but I think that the original tyres (205/60/R15) are too "high" for this kind of car...
A more "low" tyre (eg. a rim with a biggere diameter, for example 215/40/R17) sould be more effective...

I originally thought it was a typo - but I assume that it really is one of the rare 2 litre V8's with supercharger built for the italian market due to some stupid engine size rule making anything over 2 litre heavy on tax or something?
This is the engine that the V8S hump is for - due to the space required for the supercharger under the bonnet.
(I'm quoting what I can remember from Steve Heath's bible here).
Cominoc - I'm not sure what the position is but I'm sure if you ring the TVR Car Club and ask nicely they may sell you a copy of the S Series Bible.

I'd like to second that fact, very rare indeed. Slightly off topic can you post some pictures of the engine bay I'm sure there are enough people here who would want to add it to their collection and see an origanl reason for the bonnet hump.re the original request as already said the stud pattern is standard Ford 4 hole of the era, can anyone post the offsets.
My old V8S is in teh classified at the moment and that had a 17" conversion by teh new owner perhaps if he's looking in he could post the spec of his wheels, that or you could give him a ring details in teh for sale section.. HarryW said:

Hi, the performance is not so bad, to be honest, I didn't compare it with other TVR...It has about 230 hp, you have to be very careful with gas, expecially in curves... Also with the third speed !!
This is the reason I want to replace original wheels, I'd like to have more grip, and reduce the oscillation of the rear...

TVR S-series cars have Ford (Sierra) hubs with a PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) of 4/108mm.
That is a 4-bolt pattern with a 108mm bolt circle.

The stud pattern is like Ford, as said by "Roy C".
The standard wheels are 7x15 with 25mm offset.
My V8S came with 7x17 wheels and 215/45x17 Toyo Proxes T1R tyres as fitted by the previous owner.
The offset was 38mm but this did not work very well – the steering feel was wrong. I added 5mm spacers to make the offset 33mm. This made the steering a lot better and the tyres do not hit the bodywork.
I wanted to use bigger spacers (maybe 10mm) but the studs were not long enough. One day I will fit longer studs.
With these tyres the grip is much better. I do not know if it is OK to use standard 25mm offset with the 17" tyres. You need to check they do not hit the bodywork.
