Mica Blue paint match

My wing mirror needs re-spraying. Does anyone know if Mica Blue was used by any other car manufactures? or have they got a good match from Halfords?

Is it Mica Starfire (dark blue) like mine or Mica Starmist (a lighter blue)?

I am told that Mica Starfire is a Toyota colour known as Dark Blue Pearl, Toyota paint code 8e3. After I was told that I decided to note it in my wee car handbook, only to find that, before I bought it, somebody has already noted "Toyota 8e3" beside the TVR paint code (PA14B) so whoever it was, either the factory or a previous owner, obviously reached the same conclusion.

I bought one of the cans from Halfords that they mix up for you, but I haven't used it yet so I can't confirm how good a match it is.

Check out the paint codes link in the 'Useful Links' sticky to translate your TVR code to something more meaningful.

I recently purchased a couple of rattle cans for my cobalt blue s1.5 from www.paints4u.com and the match was bang on.

I've just spoken to my local Halfords and they reckon that paint code matches up with dark metallic Blue rather than pearl, do you think this could be the one?

I think that the man in Halfords told me the same - Toyota definitely listed it as "pearl" but Halfords have "metallic". I think that the "mica" means "pearl" and not "metallic" so I think that the paint code is right but the description isn't.

Would be interested to hear how you get on.

My dark blue Starfire Mica Blue is TVR code P -158.
For anyone in the SE "Britcon Motor Factors Ltd" at Northiam East Sussex will mix any TVR colour from the TVR code while you wait, mine was a perfect match. Real enthusiasts and its a good run out too.

right, just spayed my mirror. It had been resprayed before and was way off hence the respray.

I can confirm the mentioned toyota dark met blue is a very very good match. If anything the metallic element is slightly heavier, I can get away with it fine on the mirror but I wouldn't want to use it on the body as it wouldn't blend too well.

I will post pics soon when I've refitted.

Incidentally dumbass here remove the whole door card only to find there is a spindle you can hammer round to release the chim style mirrors from the outside.
