Rocker cover breather

I have a spare engine from a 2.9 sierra and the breather on the rocker cover appears to go straight into the plenum chamber, has anyone got this on their car? just wondering if its a case of drilling and tapping the plenum or if there is more to it?,filter etc.
Sorry should have said I want to use the covers on my existing engine if possible as I can paint them up before i remove my old ones.

Can't see any need for a filter to be honest - the idea is that crankcase gases in the rockers get drawn into the plenum by engine vacuum and burnt, reducing emissions. I can't see the point in filtering it before you burn it, unless you already had half a ton of sand circulating in your oil (in which case a filter in the rocker breather would be the least of your worries).

Remember that the TVR fits the rockers the opposite way round from Ford, ie left one on the right and right one on the left. Don't forget also to make the "ding" for the alternator bracket BEFORE you paint them. DO NOT ask me how I know this.

The rocker breather outlet just needs a K&N mini filter on it. Dont route it anywhere, it will just disrupt airflow

On mine the offside rocker cover breathes to the plenum through a very flexible pipe that collapses under a vacuum. The nearside one breathes through the filler cap and was linked to the air filter but now breathes to the atmosphere through a breather filter attached to the oil filler cap.

Mine does this too, and occasisonally makes a funny squealy noise akin to putting a blade of grass between your thumbs and blowing. Not at all embarassing at traffic lights that one!
