Headlights with a mind of their own.

Parked the S2 up yesterday after a long drive and as I went to close the garage door the headlights were still on! I had the keys in my hand and the light switch was in the off position. In the end I had to remove the battery earth to turn them off.

I removed both headlight relays and they both tested OK. I'm still thinking its either the headlight relay or else a chaffed wire to the headlights getting power from another adjacent wire (unlikely). To be powered with the ignition off there must be a permanent live in there somewhere.

Am I missing something obvious?

The ignition switch has very little to do with the headlights (full beam and driving lights only inhibited with ignition off) which is why you can leave them on inadvertantly. I think TVRGit's diagnosis is probably correct. Thanks for the offer Mark. I'm borrowing a relay tomorrow which will either confirm or deny that possibility. Unfortunately I'm in Lincolnshire, about 6 hours away!!!
