i've decided to have a go at polishing my wheels myself
I've bought a polishing kit and taken loads of advice so i'll let you know whether i've saved myself a fortune in wheel refurbishment or cost myself to the tune of a new set of wheels

Prepare for it to take a long time ! I have done just one of mine so far and it took nearlly a whole day to get it right. I presume you have the kit that has the various compounds and the drill bits for you to actually polish the metal with.

The hardest part is getting to the area where the rim meets the main part of the wheel - you will need those drill bits that look like big rolls of cotton wool to reach these parts. When using these drill bits, be very carefull that they don't split as you will mark the alloy with the metal bit that goes into the polishing cotton.

I have promised my 'S' to do the remaining three wheels in the next few weeks so I will let you know if I pick up any more tips.

Good luck !
