Sorry Folks but there was a question posed about a sticking odometer with a lot of useful advice that this plonker can't locate.

Coming back from the local meet (first time pour moi
and not the last- friendly lot) and noticed it stick at 55,399(9) owwwww nuts.

Still bloody marvellous to own/drive.

PS Is there to be a 2002 S meet??

There's an FAQ regarding this in the Griff/Chimp section I think.

Thanks for the prompt Ted, I've found it.

Sounds like tapping of glass is the easiest starting point (LeeBee). If this fails its transducer o/p check followed by a chat to Speedy Cables (Contact details anyone? )

Thanks in advance.

The transducer is only fitted to the 2.9 and V8 cars. The 2.8 engines use a mechnaicla link. The electronic system system is different from that used on the Griffs and Chimaeras but does use a transducer to drive an electronic speedo and provide a signal for the ECU.

OK I've tried tapping. Stationary tap, tap at steady 50mph and thump at speed, all to no avail.

As the speedo is working ok,it would appear to rule out a faulty transducer. (Info from previous thread).

Any further advice greatly appreciated.

Before I'm accused of clocking the car it reads 54,399
and not 55 as quoted before!

PS It's a '93 V8S if it makes any difference.

K400,

I've tried the same with mine (see post in S section) but its still stuck on 23,899. Its exactly the same, speedos fine - just the mileometer.

Any more ideas ? Just as well the fuel guage works.

Cheers,
JSG.
