Insurance??

Hi all,

I still looking to buy an s3, but i haven't yet found any good insurance quotes..

I will only use the s3 as a 2nd car, just a weekend treat!
So not many miles to rack up.

Can anyone suggest a good cheap insurance company? does it come under classic insurance?

Also, what sort of quotes should i expect??

Think some on here are paying as little as £120 for 3-5,000 miles

It would be worth speaking to Hagerty (www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk) tel [phone]. They are enthusiasts and even drive TVRs themselves so are v helpful and will do sensible prices for TVRs as second cars and with limited mileage so give them a try.
(No Im not on commission but they are helpful and were the best I could find when I last looked. No doubt others will also advise about who they think as there has been some relatively recent posts re insurance with others being mentioned).

As has already been mentioned - Haggerty. I suppose it depends on your age etc, but I would have to add a zero onto their premium for my next closest quote. I couldn't believe she'd got it right. It's a third of the cost I spend on insuring my 1100cc runaround!

They're good for other makes too.

I've got an 88 S1 and am currently insured with Heritage. Its due for renewal at the end of the month and they have quoted me £205. I tried A Plus as per Pistonheads and they quoted me £250. Thats both for 5000 miles me only driver (50+ age) living and garaged in Surrey.

I'm with RH specialist - they were cheaper for me than Hagerty or anyone else for that matter.

Quote for a 350i (a few years older) - £185!

To put this into perspective, I pay the best part of £500 to insure a 1.1 saxo and I had plenty of quotes around the £2,000 mark for the tiv!

I used Hagerty for a Classic car policy 3,000mls @ over 25
£166.00p Fully Comp with agreed value of £7000 if I wanted
5,000mls it was just under £200. I didnt think that was bad
