When was the last time you looked at the FAQ's for this forum ? It looks like it has fallen out of use which is a pity... there are already some typical FAQ's (well there would be wouldn't there 
) but there are other FAQ's which we see time and again which are not on there...
Kinky says that all we have to do to add a FAQ is to ask him to do it.
so, how about having a few added to get the FAQ's topical, you know the ones...

Brake Pipes
Headlamp Trims (with beancan mod)

Engine Mounts
etc etc...

Hi Kevin, must admit I didn't even know that section existed until your post prompted me to find it. I suppose there are two separate and related issues; parts and advice. I treat the alternative parts list as a key parts reference, Steve Parker has (when asked) been putting links on the parts list to the forum discussion on sourcing parts (eg the alternative indicator sources found by forum members are now referenced by links from the parts list. What I try to do therefore is refer new parts info to Steve and that links through to advice on using the parts.
Where I do have a problem is general advice where I find it difficult to locate any past discussions there may have been on anything I want to know. That is a general problem with forums though, the main cross ref is to the title the originator uses, and they vary enormously.

Hmmm... I had thought of that Al but felt that the list could grow and be more difficult to manage, but I think its still a possibility... I thought of a Wiki named "FAQ's" with the links in there as you suggest with a brief name of the thread, but wondered if I would be told that there is already a FAQ Link which should be used...Any comment KINKY ?

Yep that works as a link to the FAQ page, just need to add the FAQ's we want to that page now...Some on there are dead, others are old - but maybe still relevant, others need adding from recent history.
How about we figure out a couple of topics that have been discussed recently and get them on there to start the ball rolling... suggestions ...

Hi Richard... were you trying to add a "smilie" ?, unlike some other forums, you cant just click on the one you want, you need to search for the smiley you want via the link directly above the panel you are typing in, when you see the one you want then note the "text" for that smiley so if you wanted the "Laugh" 
you need to type "laugh" between two colons (oo-err missus !)if you knew this already then apologies from me
