Also TVR magazine this month goes on about batteries wish they had written last month, might have saved me the cost of a battery charger still be warned if you dont use the car much over winter disconnect te battery might last a bit longer.....

Except it is not a good idea especially with a Griff/Chimaera etc. What happens is that the alarm will reset and disable all the blippers. It may or may not depending on its want, activate the central locking and prevent you from getting into the car. Even if you do... it will immobilise everything so that you can't do anything. On the Rover V8 engine, it will reset the ECU to its default which may or may not cause the engine to run worse... Disconnecting a battery still doesn't address the issue of temp strain on the battery. You are far better off using a decent battery conditioner rather than disconnecting it.

And before you ask an admin error meant I didn't see it before it went in Sprint, otherwise there would have been some additional explanations.

I have Just filled up with petrol and blasted home, when I put the car in the garage I noticed a petrol leak, a little worrying as it was only just missing the exhaust. fortunately I wont have to explain that it to the insurance co.

Does anyone know if this is a common occurence with S2's?

Certainly I had to replace the fuel piping on mine because the bend and location will cause the pipe to perish quite quickly. There are piccies and details in the S bible.

Beeste,

Double check that the leak is not just coming from the overflow. I and a couple of other people I know have had this happen.

It is more prevelant when you fill the tank right up to the cap though....and in warm weather....

Cheers

The gasket round the fuel gauge sender could be gone.
