changed the boots now what grease to fill it with?

I put EP90 grade oil in mine.

my first thoughts but it had a light grey grease in so was going to replace it with same for damping effect

Assuming we are talking about filling the boots... My Haynes manual says... " Refit the dust cover after filling with semi-fluid grease"... doesnt say what grade.

I use Millers "Black" (which is actually light grey) for this kind of application

Would CV Joint grease be suitable ????, if so it can be bought in Sachets.

As a matter of interest, what is the S1 rack from? Presume there will have been a 'thread' some time?

No mention in the alternative parts list on this one. Presume we are OK while they can be re-conditioned? Wonder what the long term solution would be?

Look at my forum posts under my profile I've done some investigation on this.
Main rack body is vauxhall chevette track rods are ford but don't know what ford or if they are modified.
Also from an email only yesterday I think the track rods are different length for V6 and V8 due to V8 wider track.
