Rattling stick

My gearlever is rattling mainly when i push it in fourth. It heads my list for
the weekend but thought you guys might be able to save me some investigation
time.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be the gearknob vibrating. I found another thread with a solution which worked for me - remove the knob, fill it with some bathroom sealant or similar then refit

I had a similar problem some time ago - it was more of a buzz than a rattle but then it probably depended on the revs I think. This was fixed by taking off the gear lever and replacing a small nylon saddle that the gear lever sits in at the top of the gearbox. I took it to a local gerabox place and they had one (I think it was "give me 50p&quot and whilst the apparent difference between the old and new one was hardly noticeable it did fix the problem so it may be worth a look.
