I've got it !!!!!
Discussion
I've finally got my first TVR - an S2 (really an S1.5). So no more cold sweats, and sleepless nights (it's nearly as bad as xmas day)!
Anyhow, I'll enjoy the hack up/down the A30/M3, and I look forward to meeting you all over the coming months at various meets/events, and thank you all for your help and support over the past few weeks in this forum.
On a side-note: can anyone recommend a decent specialist in the Camberley area? I need the doors looking at (both have dropped).
And for the record I've decided to call him Rudolph (see seperate thread), based on the fact he's red, and the appropriate time of year!
For those wishing to know, here's the relevant S1/1.5/2 details (for future reference - handy when I was first started researching):
- Reg Aug 1, 1988
- 2.9 engine
- V5 states 280S
- Analogue clock
- Speedo/Rev needles sit at 2 o'clock (not 7 as is the norm)
- S1 wheels
- Rubber bumper inserts
- manual windows
- No wheel arch inserts/mudguards
- No catches for the roof panels

Kinky, Excellent news, my introduction to TVRs was my first S2, a fantastic car and I had so much fun, it was BRG with fawn interior, and interesting history, it was owned by Major James Hewitt, had all the bills etc from his initial purchase to service history.
Anyway fondest memories were driving through the highlands, the roar and echo in the glens was excellent and it was not raining either !!!
Enjoy your S2

Thanks for all your support !
As an aside - when I say there's no roof catches, I mean that there's no clips on the roof panels or windscreen top that tie together.
There's also no holes on either the panels or top of the windscreen (where someone 'might' have removed them).
So all I have is the 4 slots where the panels slot into.

Read Post :"Roof Panels for S1" then :-))
I quote:
"I had a nasty experience in my S1 the other month when the driver side roof panel flew out whilst I was driving down a three lane dual carriageway. Thankfully there was no one behind me."
Cheers,
M@
P.S. anyone know what a 3 lane dual carriageway is :-)

Hi Kinky,
Congratulations on joining the 'S' club !
I'm live in Camberley as well and I know of a couple specialists. As PistonTed says David Batty is fairly local and really does know his stuff. Drop me an email if you would like any specific details.
Hopefully see you about as my journey to work is up the M3 and onto the A316 !
Hope to see you about.
Cheers
Paul

My forst TVR was an S and I loved it, good choice. I would thoroughly recommend Steve Howard at Thames Valley Racetech www.thamesvalleyracetech.co.uk/
My S went there and came back a different car! Rich...
