Taga tops S4C

Can anyone help with info on Taga Tops I am considering purchasing a S4C but it has the Taga Top missing on the RH side, are all the S Series Taga Tops the same ?

Does anyone know anyone who is scrapping a S Series which may have a Taga Top available ? Any condition would be considered.

There are slightly different length targa tops I believe depending on the age of the car.
There are a couple of TVR breakers - one is douglas valley can't remember the other.

You may struggle to get a roof panel in good condition though - I'd budget for the cost of getting them both recovered to match.

Thanks for that, Douglas Vally have a S3C they are breaking but the Taga Tops have gone, if you do remember the other breaker please could you let me know as I dont think I will purchase the vehicle if I cannot secure the Taga Top.

I have no problem on repairing and recovering, I had expected that I would have to do that.

As Steve says above, Bellhill Garage (www.bellhillgarage.com - tel [phone]) may be able to help. They do list some S's as being available in the Oct 2007 website update so you may be lucky. Good luck with the search.

If you can't get a panel right away it may be worth a p155 take offer if you have somewhere to store it.
These panels do turn up from time to time.
Assume the rest of the car is good.
How do you lose a targa panel? Or is it broken?

One will turn up eventually.

A car once went into Austek with only 1 panel, the other was sucked off on the M25 !!!!!!!! cant of been fitted properly and the guy didnt go back for it.

I reckon they'd be worth a ring too as they must of found one for that guy

You've already had lots of info on the 2nd question, i.e. where to get a panel. The first one....

...shouldn't be ignored! As with any S parts they were all made to standards, although those standards varied from car to car
I know from experience that roof panels from one car might not easily fit another car. The panel will be the same size but the locating lugs or rubber trim might need some work to ensure it all fits properly. This may mean some messing about to adjust the lugs etc but in an extreme case it might mean some fibreglass work will be needed to get the lugs into the correct position.

If the car is available for a reasonable price I wouldn't let it put me off. If the seller wants top money for it and there are no other problems with the car do as Chris has suggested and make a silly offer and see what happens. Alternatively walk away and look at another S - there are always a couple of decent ones in the PH classifieds (although if it's an S4 you particularly want they are harder to come by....)

That top was on the bonnet of a car further down the row , I stuck it back on that Tiv on thursday.glad you found it.
