Switches in small dash panel on S3

I have removed both my dash panels recently and they are now at Chapman and Cliff in Wybunbury. I have just removed the up-down switches, mirror switch and control from the small panel and noticed that the rear fog switch was damaged. Luckily Rimmer Brothers still sell similar switches (the graphic may be different but I may swap that?), they are from a TR7, apologies to those that know this :-)
The steel panel underneath which carries the switches was plain steel which had rusted (poor design) but it is now brown hammerite and I will also paint the steel sub panel that carries the two large instruments and the clock when I have chance.
I really like the S but TVR quality, or the lack of, can disappoint sometimes, remember that this was not a cheap car in its heyday.

I agree the quality can be variable to put it lightly but you are totalyy wrong when you say this wasnt a cheap car when new. From what I recall an S could be had from somewhere between £12k-£14k, now for a 2 seater sports tourer that does 0-60 in 7ish secs and 135mph! Similar priced cars of the day were the Sierra xr4i or even mazda mx5 to give some idea. Now are we really going to say that we would swap or TVR for either of those? I think not. Nice one, but I notice that under the S series optional extras is list air conditioning....... Is that where they take the roof off for you?
Thanks for your thoughts. The list price of the S3c was £20 000 according to the price list on the S web site. That was in 1992!!!! If you factor in inflation that would be around £30 000 now. For that sort of money the build quality should have been better. Don't worry like you I like the S but I just wanted to make my point.
