What a day, dropped my son at station this morning (S3 started on the button as usual), and set off to Worcestershire to pick up the V8S.

The S3 ran faultlessly all the way there (also as usual), good blast with no traffic and a bit of rain.

My V8S was ready with service, new MOT and PDI complete - shiny and noisy.

I paid the money and set off home - 3 miles later (not even at Alcester) I notice temp gauge is reading high and pull over into a convenient layby. I then get steam and switch off quick. So the first photo shows the car with bonnet up and antifreeze puddling in front of it waiting for DG's truck. (mobile phone - excellent invention).

Anyway, got back to DGs, and pressure tested the system - all was fine and the fans came on as the gauge got to the red so it was put down to an air lock or sticky stat causing it to boil up.

Left for home again and no problems - fantastic car - until the door fell off (almost - see other thread). Ah well - its these little quirks that endear us to TVRs......

Latest update.

Door back on (still need to tweak I think) and its been great fun this week - so different to the S3 to drive, and then this morning it boiled up again cobblers, no fun this weekend and I bet the sun comes out.

Luckily it happened just down the road from Steve Howard's place so I let it cool down on BP's forecourt (local radio doing outside broadcast - did I get a mention on 2Ten FM anyone?) and left it with Steve. Needs a new rad (small leak) and something else, hopefully just a new thermostat.

Cheers,
JSG and poorly V8S
