Can anyone recommend a supplier of reconned diff's as an exchange unit for my S1.5. A bearing in it has gone and rather than lose the car for a couple of weeks while mine is being rebuilt I wondered whether anyone had had a similar issue and managed to source an exchange ??

Cheers

Hi Mark,

Autogear (01268-681608) based at Canvey Island are good people to talk to about diffs, but I'm not sure if they have on the shelf exchange units.

Have you tried AutoTrader?, that's normally got ads in for exchange engine/gearbox and poss diff companys.

Cheers,

Dave.

Johno,

The V6s used a Sachs diff (3.64:1 ratio) and I'm not sure if this was a ford unit or not. Whilst the general opinion is to get it reconditioned I would think that there must be replacement / exchange units around, it might be an idea to talk to one of the independant specialists such as Tower View, Thames Valley Racetech etc to see if they can advise a source.

Good luck.
