Chrome Rocker Covers?

these look cheap and you could have then Chrome Plated. You see alloy ones listed sometimes for the 2.8. I think these fit OK but if I recall you need to drill out one of the bosses as it does not have a bolt hole - the boss is there, just no hole. The only other thing I can think of is that some of the steel covers on the offside need a dent to allow full adjustment of the alternator, this would be a bit more tricky with alloy.

You could always strip and polish the rocker covers you have:
I did these in April 2005 (see webby diary thing for details) - it was a lot of work but they looked fandabby.
Unfortunately, although I lacquered them, they weren't heat-resistant so started to rust, so the following year I replaced them with ordinary painted ones - I still have these ones in my shed though so I might give them another go.

well in my case, when I was cleaning mine up off the car, a mate noticed the cover was "dinged" and helpfully and without saying so made a great job of knocking out the ding ! after everything was painted up and the cover was back on the car, the problem was noticed... I dont know about a TVR mod but I give it a judicious belt with a 2LB hammer to restore the specially designed ding to its original position - then had to repaint the damaged paintwork 
I think I saw the same thread you have regarding cutting out and rewelding in a recess in an alloy cover - like I say, a bit more tricky Edited by ketvrin on Monday 16th July 17:07
There was a thread on this forum a while ago when I put them on, ref reworking the breather system.
But just quickly they were given to me so I dont know what there off but its a cologne v6 possibly a top spec Granada.
And they fit with no problem if you take a file to the altanator mounting.

I couldn't get the alloy ones to fit!!
