I always said I'd never do it - and now I've gone and sold my faithful S3C. Now I've got to go and tell my better half what I've done.

Its all her fault really (and John Bull's noisy exhaust last Sunday) as she always said the TVR wasn't practical enough with 3 kids, and that I should trade it for a BMW convertible or a Triumph Stag (V8 burble and 4 seats, always seemed the sensible option).

If I'm not in plaster for the next six weeks I'll let you know how I get on.

John,

I can't believe you have sold your S3C. I am sorry my exhaust had such an effect on you, I'll get it changed tomorrow (well on second thoughts....I think I'll keep it )

I am sorry that you sold your car and do hope you get something, at least as nice, as a replacement.

John,

As John said shame the tiv's gone...I am quickly coming round to thinking about keeping mine !

Can I ask what you got for it ?

Hope to see you at another TVR meet soon (even if it's not in a TVR !).

Cheers

Paul

Guys,

I don't deserve sympathy, the post was for moral support to explain the replacement to the wife. I had no intention of changing it on Sunday, it was all rather quick but I picked up on the car on Tuesday from one of Apache's posts (good old PistonHeads) and tracked it down on Thursday.

Instead of buying a new exhaust, I've traded it for a '92 K V8S (pre cat). TMS had taken it in and sold it on (see Which car should I buy ??? thread in Gen Gassing).

I had always said that I would only upgrade to a V8, the wife was not that impressed with another 2 seater - kids very impressed.

I went to have a look on Thursday and was 70% convinced, started it up 80% convinced, test drive - bl**dy hell, where do I sign.

I got a good price for the S3c (about what you were looking for Paul), allowing for the paint that my bonnet needed where it had been scuffed. It'll be interesting to see what it gets advertised for.

I'm picking it up at the weekend - can't wait

Paul,

Don't sell it - keep it and use it.

John,

Glad you have not forsaken TVR's. Hope the new one is even better than the last.

Paul - I agree with John "Keep it and use it!"

Maybe a cheap runabout for the winter is in order...don't want salt and crap ruining that paint work !

It takes me too long to clean it every Saturday for that anyway !

Look forward to seeing your V8S at the next 'S' meet John.

Cheers Woody,

I can't wait, I'm getting excited now (even at my age when I'm supposed to be mature). The wife just looks at me despairingly and mutters about what she could have spent the money on and the kids are fighting over who will be first in it (after me)

You have got a cracking car there, the last bloke was gutted to sell it, the previous owner before that was one of the founder members of the East Midlands TVR Car Club - John Dawson
