Parts Guide
Prices are approximate and exclude VAT. Details are correct to the best of our knowledge. Part numbers are TVR unless specified otherwise. Thanks to JohnTidey, Stephen Parker and Ian Mansfeld for much of the information here.
Ian thoroughly recommends getting Motorcraft ignition components from a Ford dealer. The replacement parts supplied through motor factors and even some TVR dealers are of visibly inferior quality, and do not have the correctly angled plug caps or the right angle distributor cap ends needed to clear the bonnet.
Do check the part numbers particularly with respect to whether it's an early 2.8 or the 2.9 engine.

| Engine Mountings | Original mountings were Ford Germany spec, and are no longer available. TVR recommend going to a Ford dealer and asking for round rubber insulator, and suggested (Ford Capri/Transit). They (TVR) will not supply, Ford UK mountings, as they are not type approved and tested in car. Team Central state two types of engine mounting fitted 1. 1 ½ inch rubber thickness. 2. 2 inch rubber thickness. (See below for details). Fitted to 1991 S3C were mountings marked FORD GETEFO 073535, no ford part number. | ||

Discussion
Wiper blades are a case of measuring and going down to Halfords and getting replacement blades. If it is an arm you need then start praying you have the later fixing that will take the later Griff wiper arm as the other one is virtually impossible to source. In this case you need to be handy with engineering tools or may need to replace the whole system!
The S bible has a lot on this as it has caught several people out.
I'll probably go to my grave saying this but don't assume anything is actually correct for your car when you see a parts list. Use it as an indication but always check with the original before parting with cash. Take piccies and measurements if you have to but chcek and double chcek. Many motor factors will cahrge restocking fees if you have to return a special order part.

One thing I query is the rear light clusters. The Escort I parked next to the other day had it's clusters the same way up as my S1 clusters.
Also, the moulded ford logo in the rear light cluster is appearing the right way up on my car....?

Agree with this, mines the same, however I have seen some the other way up. So it's a case of, what ever way they come off your car thats the way they go back on

S1 Stering wheel vibration.
Hi guys, My steering wheel shakes when I reach 45mph and above, Ive changed the column gromet and also found play in the column UJ'S which I also changed. My steering rack was reconditioned only 2 years ago I dont think the rack is the problem. PLEASE HELP

Hi guys, My steering wheel shakes when I reach 45mph and above, Ive changed the column gromet and also found play in the column UJ'S which I also changed. My steering rack was reconditioned only 2 years ago I dont think the rack is the problem. PLEASE HELP
PS WHEELS ARE BALANCED AND TRACKED.
