Rad Fan required - help please

Hi all,

I am in need of a new Radiator fan and housing/shroud/cowl (the plastic bit it sits in)

Anyone know a source please?

S series part list reckons the fan is from www.kenlowe.com, part number 16sxx. Not sure if this is the housing too?

I thought it was a Davies Craig unit? Well thats what the factory supplied me with a couple of years ago and it looked identical.

Iim not sure it's kenlowe, but kenlowe probably make a fan to fit the shroud.

Make sure you get the right set up: S2 and earlier fans suck, mounted on the back of the rad (engine side), whereas S3 onwards fan blows, mounted on the front of the rad (although there are probably exceptions).

Edited cos I got it the wrong way round (my excuse is I've only had mine 16 years!)

Thanks Le TVR, its a Davis Craig dc31...now where do i get it from?

On my s2 its a "suck" fan positioned behind the rad, the fan taken off clearly states it is a "suction fan and must be rear mounted"

Trust mine to be the exception to the rule

No, it isn't - I got it the wrong way around!

An Original DC 31 from MAW solutions - really helpful fella there.

I asked for the nearest modern equivalent a DCSL12, he asked what it was replacing i told him the 31, he said its a TVR isnt it? and went on to say they usually carry stock for TVR`s! what a man!!!

Price was decent too £98 inc VAT and carriage for the full fan kit.

Now after my recomendation - lets hope it turns up correctly!

If it was me I'd forget about trying to find the exact replacement and fit a Kenlow or similar quality fan. There are universal mounting kits that fit through the rad and I've used these on other cars sucessfully.

Thats what I did,I fitted a 16" Kenlowe it just fits
