I've finally finished painting the chassis
Some pics here

All thats left to do is :-

Fit new headlights,I've opted for crystal ones as the light output is supposed to be better
Remake the wiring connectors for the front lights
Fit a new driving light
Drain,flush and refill cooling system filling new swirl pot
Relag exhaust manifolds
Fit new calipers to the front to allow 260mm discs
Bleed brakes,could be fun ..not
clean polish and then MOT time

I might make Sclub heaven yet

Looks good! I've just finished stripping and checking the vulnerable bits of mine after the scary disintegrating trailing arm episode so I feel your pain (somewhere among all of mine)

Is it an optical illusion or is the top of that mudflap cutting through the gaiter on the steering column UJ?

Looking great Pies.
Have you had the body off / lifted ?
I am going to paint mine this winter - just curious on the front where the body meets the diagonal plate on the front outrigger - can you do anything to protect this where it meets the body without a body lift ?
Can you get the rubber packing out & get some paint in there ??

Obviously if you lifted the body this doesn't apply.

And couldn't agree more - there is nothing quite as shitty for me as bleeding the brakes - I don't know why but I just absolutely detest it.

Looks good Pies was thinking of doing something similar to front arches on mine.Most of problems seem to stem from there.

All work done with the body ON,if you look at the pics of rotten outriggers the metal plate is intact,its just rotten at the end.Therefore there is no need to remove the rubber but you need to clean and pain very well around the welds i used brake cleaning fluid, emery cloth and hacksaw blades to clean.Then i sed a number 8 artists brush to paint
