The throttle return spring has broke, the throttle does come back up but its extremely light, I’m supposed to be going to Carlisle on Monday so need a quick fix, ford don’t sell the spring separately and want £324 for the whole set up. I'll try a breakers, any ideas where i might get one?

Which one has gone? If it's the spiral one round the throttle spindle you can make a replacement from piano wire (spring steel). If its the linear one you could replace it with any spring about the right sort of length/rate. Not hard to get hold of from a decent hobby/hardware store, if you get stuck I seem to remember DT sell large packs of them.

I have a Mini clutch return spring on mine, all I did was drill a small hole in the end of the throttle arm and in the rear of the housing. It is a little longer so it works from quarter throttle which is good because it is quite stiff

Not a set of twin 1 1/2 by any chance? (I have loads of 1 1/4 but need the bigger ones)

Cheers
