S3 ignition coil (does anyone know the correct part number?)

I was just about to try & get a replacement ignition coil but after checking some previous postings here I'm now a little confused!!!
The alternative parts list indicates a coupled of Motorcraft numbers, none of which seem to be listed in the shops, but they do all seem to suggest a fairly standard part listed for the standard 2.9 Granada etc. There are also Demon tweaks (I wanted to try & get something this weekend though) & a Lucas part listed.
However, as I said, I've just been through some previous forums & seen a picture of an odd looking square coil on some S3's! What's that all about then!??? Mine currently looks like a standard coil you'd get on most cars, but I guess it could have been changed previously.
Any suggestions?
I'm not after anything flash, don't even know if the coil is the problem, still trying to solve my problem with lack of power at low revs & this is one of the only things I haven't either changed or checked!!!

I had one of these off this guy the other day and it was identical to the original (part No'DLB 125). He also has rotor arms for £2.98+ carr'.

Mine also has the square coil that the OP has. So did my old 2.9 Granada years ago (and that definitely was the original part).
The coil on the ebay link won't fit (not mine at least) - it has a female HT connector whereas both the coils above have a male connector. The LT connectors would also need a bit of bodging IIRC.
My distributor cap also has 7 male connectors (Motorcraft). Buying a new cap and leads from Ford was a nightmare - it took them 3 attempts over 3 weeks to get the right cap - they never did get the right leads, I ended up getting them somewhere else (can't remember where).

So now I appear to be in the market for a new coil, what was the outcome of this debate ? my duff (?) coil is not square and does look like a standard coil so I was tempted by the Lucas DLB125 but then I noticed a Bosch coil which looked more like mine which has a plastic cover over the leads end of things - this ad made reference to a ballast resistor ?

Just replaced mine - Burton Power suplied Bosch HP Coil (Blue Type). This is an un-ballasted coil (i.e uses 12V) which is what I think all S3s are. The way to check is to put Voltmeter across low-voltage connectors on coil (the small +ve and -ve ones) and look for 12V when ign circuit on. Ballasted systems will have 9V as they use coils only needing 9V meaning more volts to the starter during cold winter starts. A ballasted coil (9V) will work really well on a non-ballasted system BUT NOT FOR LONG! (it will burn out as being fed 12V not 9V)

I'm digging this post up because I haven't found any info concerning S3C square coils elsewhere on the forum.
I'm trying to get my engine to run on all 6 cylinders (it's running on 5, maybe even 4). The car was overheating before it was put into storage 9 years ago. That's a problem I'll try to solve later.
First culprit is this beautiful bodge job that somebody did to the car
The engine has a "square" ignition coil. I believe it's a Ford Ranger/Bronco II coil. which seems to add up as they had versions of the Cologne V6.
Am I correct in thinking this?
If you look at my pics, firstly the coil to distributor HT lead is taped to a self made adapter that goes on the coil. This looks plainly wrong.
Also the coil has what looks like a "female" end, although the pic I've uploaded of the Bronco coil shows a male "nipple" (The same type as what I have on my distibutor). So I think that the guy who bodged the HT lead removed the nipple.
Does somebody know if the coil I've found is the correct coil? which would mean that the HT lead should be female/female connecting to 2 nipples.
If this is correct, then my new HT lead is wrong and I need to find a different lead (and a new coil).

Well finally got the part. Mine was a MOBILETRON CF-01 bought on ebay. It's easier to find if you search for Ford Bronco II ignition coil.
