Shocks

Are all shocks in the S range interchangeable ?
I have been offered some new S2 shocks cheap, will they fit my V8S ?

I think the rears at least, may be different.

The S3 onwards had a different trailing arm and shock mount from the S1 and S2. I don't know if the V8S used the earlier or later version but I suspect the later - why would they make the V6 and V8 at the same time with different trailing arms (ok it's a TVR so not beyond the bounds...)

If you need to replace an S1 or S2 trailing arm you have to have the later V8/S3 type so i guess they will fit

Aye but you have to replace the shockers as well else it sits too high so I don't think they're the same.

When I said I'd been offered them cheap, that was a bit of a fib.

AVO PG718 fits all S models front and rear, per the AVO applications list, this model has the adjustable platform per the e-bay item. If you are unsure then phone AVO and ask what should fit?

All I know is this -

S1 owner <not me) fits new S3-type trailing arms

car now sits too high at rear

inspection reveals shock mountings are different

owner adjusts shocks to lower ride height

rear now bottoms out on bump stops

owner buys new shorter shock absorbers

problem solved.

Yes the same ones will fit, but that doesn't mean they should be the same.

But if that's what's listed then fine - who am I to argue based on experience?
