I do need a 2.9i Engine

The engine has been knocking for a while. Lifted the engine from the car. Check the bottom end and found out the crank is shagged. Great only 4 weeks until Le Man.......

I have one potential engine lined up, but would like a choice so I was wondering if any of you guys have an engine or know someone with an engine.

There is one on Ebay but would rather buy a engine with known history.

I have a good engine here but I'm in Holland. I'm restoring mine body off and in de process of restoring I run into a complete new one. That made the perfectly good running original engine redundant.

He had a spare engine he was trying to sell - I'm not sure if he still has it. I think he's away for the week but I've dropped him an email to let him know about this thread. He's near Cambridge so not too far from you.

Cheers Guys for the info. I'm going to see if the crank can be reground today, if it can't then I will be going down the replacement engine route.

Emailed Big Ian last night and got a email back saying that someone has put a verbal offer on the engine, just missed out.

That engine does look good.

I've had the crank reground for a total of £200, a bit pricey BUT this means my engine has now had a complete Top end & Bottom end overhaul. Fitting the engine back in tomorrow. Then off to get ignition system sorted next week. Hopefully that will be it for a year or so - apart from the respray.

Agreed , but I suppose if you weigh up the sum of the new parts,Injectors Dizzy,pumps crank & pistons,its probably not that bad?
