Velcro hood strips

I am looking to replace the Velcro strips that run down the sides of the hood. Mine keep peeling off the hood material. The other bits on the body stay on fine, just having trouble fixing the strips to the material of the hood.

Any suggestions?

Mine are stitched on, fiddly job if you have to do it in situ. I had to repair one where the stitching had come undone, took half a day to do just one side. I used an awl made with a sewing machine needle and black waxed thread.
