Chimera / Griff Roof Stays

I believed these would fit so managed to aquire some and they appear to be too long when closed.

Has anyone fitted these and if so what mods (if any) vdid you make to get them to fit?

Hi Mal,

I think you have to drill some new holes to accomodate the longer stays in the back panel above the 'parcel shelf'. Where did you manage to source the stays from out of interest. I can't seem to find then anywhere?

You need to drill new holes lower down in the rear bulkhead. If you don't you'll stretch the hood and make the windscreen leak (not that I'd know anything about this of course!)

Hi Doug,

From here, a guy called Neil used to to a bit of TVR breaking and had a few leftover S bits for sale, bought a steering rack to return mine to normal and replace the Tuscan Race Car Quick rack that is currently fitted to mine and he had three of the struts with broken brackets. I could'nt resist them so grabbed them while I was picking the rack up last night.

I plan on using the exisiting brackets or maybe making some longer ones for the bulkhead with a bit of a slot for adjustment to allow the mount to go lower (I was guessing the answers would be new holes lower down) Now looking for some 'U' shaped steel with an internal width of 25mm (inch) need about a foot I think, ie 2 times 3 inches and one c##k up .
